Omas 360 Petrol Blue

I’ve always wanted an Omas 360. It is one of the most iconic pens in the fountain pen world. I love the Reuleaux triangle cross section, the Greek key embellishments, the shape of the clip and of course those Omas nibs.

I was able to snatch one up at the Dutch Pen Show this year for a very good price. Some compromises were made as this is the ACS version with a titanium nib. However I don’t mind filling cartridges. I spend far more time with writing than filling the pen so I’m not too picky about filling mechanisms.

Omas used to make some of the most gorgeous celluloids. However a busy celluloid in my opinion may distract you from the shape of the pen. I always liked the look of the cotton resin 360s more than the celluloid ones. I was thinking about buying maybe a burgundy one at the pen show but this petrol blue looks just as beautiful if not even more so. Believe me, it’s amazing. The photo just can’t do justice to this particular shade of colour.

Behind the scenes: I’m not a magician with graphics editors (I use Affinity Photo & Designer by the way). I’m more confident in writing a script when it comes to vector graphics. The random Reuleaux triangle pattern with the Omas circles was generated by a short Python script.
