- Favourite pen makers in 2021: Small scale European pen craftsmen and urushi artists like Penmeester.be / Jan Lesy, Tamenuri Studio / Michał Kulka and goldsmith Anabelle Hiller
- Most dizzying New Pen Day: When I managed to acquire my grail pen, an Akkerman Duofold that I’d been looking for for 4 years.
- Ink of the year: It has to be Pennonia Méregzöld. It’s a beautiful shading tealish-greenish ink that behaves pretty well. I had a lot of fun with it.
- Favourite pen event: Dutch Pen Show in Utrecht. It was the only real life pen event I attended in 2021, true, but it felt absolutely magical anyway.
- My best pen move: Bringing a bunch of my pens to nibmeister extraordinaire Anabelle at Appelboom. Now I can truly enjoy pens I’ve bought but had been somehow conflicted about their performance earlier.
