I took the time to make some macro shots of my new Opus Cineris pen.
One of the characteristics of this nib is that it tends to have more nib creep. This is due to its top capillaries on the tines which have a multi-layered structure. The inky spots highlight the beauty of that amazing hammering.
Choosing this material was a brilliant idea. It’s understated, elegant, complements the beautiful nib while not stealing the spotlight. “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication” — as it’s being attributed to Leonardo da Vinci. And Giants’ Pens achieved perfection in terms of form, functionality and the choice of material. The craftsmanship is of high quality, the tolerances are tight, the polishing is immaculate.
